Quote / Testimonial: Welcome to our Patient Reference Group page.
This is an informal and friendly group who meet every quarter.
The purpose of the patient reference group is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided.
This includes patients being involved in decisions that lead to changes to the service.
If you are interested in joining our group, please contact Sarah Mulvain, Practice Manager or email alex.farthing@nhs.net.
Statement from a PPG Member
I became involved with the Patients Forum around 5 years ago. The forum, which meets quarterly, consists of around half a dozen people from different backgrounds and life experiences who are patients of the GP Practice. It covers a wide range of topics. Some examples include the design of Practice leaflets, the impact of various policies and initiatives and how it interfaces with the wider NHS. Since joining the Forum I have witnessed considerable change in a very fast-moving environment, and I have gained a much greater insight and understanding of the many complexities of the NHS.
As part of its stated aims and values, the Practice is committed to patient engagement and the Forum is an important part of that, building upon the findings from its own patient surveys and the wider GP NHS Patient Survey which is an independent survey on behalf of NHS England. The pace of change over the coming years is likely to be unrelenting but by having robust Patient engagement processes in place, the Practice will continue to be well prepared to exploit the opportunities and overcome the undoubted challenges that lie ahead.
