Test results take varying times to come back to the surgery, depending upon the type of test. You should allow at least a week before your result is received and reviewed by the practice.
Patients can view their test results online, if they have registered for the service.
Alternatively, you can call the surgery after 2pm. A receptionist will be able to inform you if your result is normal, or whether you need to discuss the result with your doctor.
If your result is abnormal and requires follow up (ie. GP appointment, retaking of bloods, etc), you will be called by the surgery to arrange this.
Results of cervical smears will be sent to patients by post, within 3 weeks, however, if contacting the surgery please allow 10-12 weeks
