Blackburn Road Medical Centre – CV19 Vaccination update
Blackburn Road clinical and administrative staff have been central to the delivery of the Covid 19 vaccination from the Batley and Birstall mass vaccination site at The Al Hikmah centre in Batley.
Our staff gave the vaccination the first North Kirklees resident and has remained at the forefront of delivery to the patient community.
As of Friday 22 January all of our affiliated Care Homes have been visited and Patients and Staff that have consented to receive the vaccination have been vaccinated.
Targeting the first 4 priority cohorts we have vaccinated 1106 in total – the emphasis has been on the vulnerable but where surplus has been identified and to ensure there is zero wastage we have also targeted NHS Staff, Care workers, first responders and key workers (Bus Drivers, Teachers etc.)
Vaccination continues this week at the AL Hikmah centre (Tuesday – Friday) and we continue to press NHS E and the CCG to release vaccine so as to be delivered from GP Practices.
