Evenings and Weekends
Evening and weekend appointments now available!
Patients can now see a local GP for routine appointments on weekday evenings and at weekends.
Pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments are available between 6.30pm and 9.30pm each weekday, with additional slots available on Saturdays from 9am and 4pm.
How to book an evening or weekend appointment
There are ‘pre-bookable’ and ‘on-the-day’ appointments which can be accessed through your own GP practice, or by calling the free NHS 111 phone line out of normal working hours.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot attend your appointment please cancel as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else in need.
To cancel your appointment you can :
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- use the GP online system – SystmOnline
- phone us on 01924 471115, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
Unfortunately, we do have an issue with some patients repeatedly not attending their appointments. Please be aware that if you miss 3 appointments you may be removed from the Practice.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to see
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home Visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We may phone you first to understand what you need.
To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.
Online Consultation
For non-urgent requests, you can now contact the Practice using our online request form, PATCHS.
You can use PATCHS for:
- Routine appointment requests
- Sick (fit) notes
- Prescription or medication queries
- Admin issues
PATCHS is available during practice opening hours:
Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 6.30pm
Requests submitted during these hours will receive a same-day response from the Practice.
If you need any help setting up or using PATCHS, please contact the surgery and we will be happy to help you.
Pharmacy First
Cherry Tree Surgery may arrange for you to be seen by a community Pharmacist through the NHS Pharmacy First service.
This service offers fast, convenient treatment for seven common conditions, without needing to wait for a GP appointment:
- Sinusitis
- Sore throat
- Earache
- Impetigo
- Shingles
- Infected insect bites
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Your consultation with the Pharmacist works in the same way as a GP appointment. If needed, the Pharmacist can offer NHS treatment, including antibiotics.
How it works
- If Pharmacy First is suitable for you, the Practice will securely share your details with the Pharmacy
- The Pharmacist will contact you the same day to arrange your consultation
- After you have been seen, the Pharmacy will update the Practice, so your medical record stays up to date
