Routine Appointments

Appointments may be made online, by telephone (01132001090) or in person if you are unable to book by phone or online.

Face to Face appointments and telephone consultations are available therefore please let us know which you would prefer.

Please make one appointment for each member of the family who needs to be seen.

We try to keep to time but please be patient if someone before you takes longer than planned. Appointments are normally ten minute slots and so if you have a complicated problem, or more than one problem, please ask for a longer appointment.

We currently only offer online booking of GP appointments.  Nurse appointments are not currently available because different nurses provide different services and require various appointment lengths that we can not specify online.

We operate an advanced access appointment system. Early morning appointments, and some evening appointments may be booked up to 3 months in advance. All other appointments with the doctors may be booked on the same day from 8 am.

Urgent appointments

If you feel that your problem is urgent we can fit you in to see a doctor on the same day. The receptionist may put you in touch with one of the doctors so that your condition can be assessed, but this may not always the doctor of your choice.

eConsultations

The aim of an eConsultation is to help you get things done without having to come in to the surgery. This is not for urgent matters. You are able to ask a question e.g. about medication, request a Fit note (Sick note), change your phone number or address etc.

Text Messaging Service

Appointment booking confirmation and reminders can be sent to your mobile phone.  To receive this service please ask at reception.  Please keep your contact details up to date, especially mobile phone numbers.

Please help us

If you are not able to attend your appointment please let us know in time so that the time can be used for someone else. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment you may be asked to re-book.

Interpreting services

If your first language is not English, please tell the receptionist and we will arrange to use our telephone translation service during your consultation.

Extended opening hours

We also offer weekday late and weekend appointments at the surgery and our neighbouring ‘hub’ practice which is at Burley Park Medical Centre. These appointments cannot yet be booked online, but can be booked by speaking to reception.

If you have a dental problem

Unfortunately we are unable to help if you have a dental problem and so we will ask you to see your dentist. If you are looking for dental care the NHS Choices website can help you find a NHS dentist. For urgent Dental Care please call 111 for the NHS 111 service.
