About Us
The Patient Participation Group was established in 2008 with local patients being invited to attend meetings on a bi-monthly basis.
A partner from the practice always attends the meetings to address and share information with the group.
Any patient registered at Countesthorpe Health Centre is eligible to join the committee.
The Countesthorpe PPG are members of the National Association of Patients Participation Groups (NAPP).
The aims of the NAPP are:
- To encourage a Patient Participation Group in every GP practice and that each group is based on the mutual interests of the Primary Care Team and Patients of the practice.
- To promote the role of Patient Participation Groups as participants in decision making within the NHS.
- To maximise the benefit of sharing common interests while recognising the individual nature of groups and the differing structures in the devolved countries of the United Kingdom.
- To encourage networking at a local, regional and national level.
More information on the aims and activities of the NAPP can be found at www.napp.org.uk

Aims and Objectives of Countesthorpe Patient Participation Group (PPG)
The aims and objectives of the Countesthorpe PPG are:
- To support and build a two-way relationship between patients and the Practice.
- To advise on the developments and the continual improvement of the Practice.
- To seek out and listen to the views of patients, carers and staff, especially those individuals and groups whose voices are not usually heard.
- To raise issues for consideration which are evidence based and which demonstrate that they are a matter of wider concern.
Whilst these are the initial aims and objectives of the PPG they are open to change and discussion by the PPG and the Practice to ensure continual development and improvement.
The PPG is not for the airing of individual patient specific problems. These must be addressed with the Practice Manager at the surgery.
