Note that School Age children will have other vaccinations given by school nurses in addition to the vaccines at the surgery. You will be notified of these by the school.

Health Visitor Checks

Your newborn will be discharged from the midwife and passed onto the Health Visitor and they are a point of contact for Children from the ages of approx 1 month until 5 years. Parents can contact Health Visitors for advice and they will have a standard health check when the child reaches 2 years of age.

It is important that babies attend their 6 week check with the GP prior to having their first immunisations (between 6 and 8 weeks). This ensures that the baby is safe to complete their immunisation course.

New mums are also offered a post-natal check with the GP and this can be anything from 6-12 weeks postnatal.

Non-NHS Services

It is important to note that not all services are covered under the NHS Services e.g. completing of insurance reports, claims, statement of fact for outside agencies etc. If you are asking the doctors at the practice to complete forms then there may be a charge for this service – a list of the charges are available at reception.

When you bring the forms into the practice you will be contacted by a member of the team giving details of the charge for the service and you will need to pay for this before the work is completed. We do endeavour to complete the paperwork and have it back to you in no more than five working days after receipt of the payment.
