LMC Awards Success

Abbey Medical Practice was recently nominated as Practice Team of the Year at the annual Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee (LMC) awards in September.

Although we didn’t win in that category, Practice Nurse Brooke Bristow was awarded with a Nottinghamshire LMC Long Service Award and Registrar Kathleen Houlton was the winner of the LMC Rising Star GP Trainee Award. 

Practice Manager Joy Stevenson said: “We are very proud of all our staff, and it was wonderful to see their contributions being recognised at these awards. Brooke’s Long Service Award was great to see – she has been with us at the practice for 28 wonderful years and we look forward to many more together. Brooke has always been a valued team member who anyone can approach for nursing advice, and she always goes that bit further for patient care.

“Our Rising Star winner Kathleen has been a brilliant addition to the team. She has been with us twice as part of her registrar training and we really hope she returns. She has fitted in really well with the team and the feedback from patients is that she listens well and is very empathetic.”
