Immunistation is the safest and most effective way of protecting your child against serious diseases. By having your child immunised at the recommended times, you are protecting them through early childhood against:
- Diptheria
- Tetanus
- Polio
- Whooping Cough (Pertussis)
- Hib (Haemophilus infulenzae type b)
- Meningitis C
- Pneumococcal
- Measles
- Mumps
- Rubella
These diseases can be very serious. Immunisation not only protects your child but also prevents the disease spreading and protects other children who can not be immunised because they have serious medical conditions.
Appointments for vaccinations are with the practice nurse and will last approximately 20 minutes. You will need to bring your child’s red book to this appointment.
