Building Project Update
Message from Dr Katrina Young:
We are delighted to show you the latest photos of our building project. Our builders and contractors continue to be incredibly busy.
If you have been past 37 St Mary’s Street recently, you will have seen the outer structure of our second floor now complete. I was fortunate to be able to go up on the roof to see the solar panels which were being installed and was amazed by the wonderful view. There is currently work ongoing on the front entrance and the front and rear electric doors have been fitted.
In the last few weeks there has been great progress with all three floors being plastered and some paintwork undertaken, sinks and doors being fitted and even flooring going down. It is really beginning to take shape and it is looking like a surgery rather than a building site.
Our IT manager Steven Hutchcraft was impressed to see his new ‘comms cabinet’ – I am just pleased I do not need to connect all those purple cables to the right connections!
Our Patient Services Team manager Elaine Baker-Moore visited the site with her colleague Simone Jackson so they could visualise the room lay outs so they can start creating room rotas for the staff.
Elaine said “Amazing to see the progress today! Patient entrances front and back offers excellent access for all. The automatic sliding doors opens up into a light airy space. Wide light corridors give easy access to the clinical rooms as you navigate around the building and I love the stained glass. It is so exciting to see the project coming together”
The surgery will keep you posted about further building developments in due course.
