A message from Dr Young to all of our patients

Posted on:

I wish to advise you of my decision to retire from my position as a partner at St Mary’s Surgery at the end of June. This decision comes after careful consideration and with mixed emotions, as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the relationships I have built over the years with both staff and patients.

After 31 years of dedicated service, I feel it is the right time for me to embark on the next chapter of my life. I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends and pursuing interests that I have long postponed.

Working at St Mary’s Surgery has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to grow both personally and professionally, and for the support and camaraderie of such a talented and dedicated team of staff.

It is great to have the wonderful new premises, which allows the team to continue to offer excellent services to the ever-growing population.

We have new staff arriving at the surgery over the new few months and some of you may have already met Dr Viraj Dhruv who is working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the foreseeable future. Due to NHS regulations, my named patients will be shared amongst the current doctors and you may notice a different doctors name on your repeat prescription. Please continue to use the Ask my GP service for medical issues and a consultation will be arranged with the most appropriate clinician.

I hope to continue supporting the surgery with fund raising events for SMILE- St Mary’s Surgery Immediate and Long-term Equipment fund as I know there is always a wish list of equipment to help improve the care we can offer patients and also to replace and update existing equipment. Donations can be made using this payment link below or monetary/cheque donations are gratefully received via reception.

Thank you once again for the wonderful experiences and memories. I will always cherish my time here at St Mary’s Surgery.

With best wishes

Katrina Young
