Dental Queries

GPs should not treat dental problems unless they have specific dental training. Our GPs will not prescribe any medication for routine dental concerns.

If you have a dental query, please contact your dentist for help and support. If you are not registered with a dentist of cannot reach one, NHS 111 can help locate emergency services.

Specimens

If you are asked to bring in a specimen, you need to ensure you have collected the correct container from reception. The specimen needs to be returned on the day it is collected, by 2.30pm at Reepham and 3pm at Aylsham, as it may need to go off to the laboratory for further testing. Please ensure the specimen container is clearly labelled with the patient details. If this is not completed or clear the specimen will not be tested. Please only bring in a specimen at the request of a clinician or if this is part of your annual review.

Please remember the Practice is closed 1-2pm and on the last Tuesday afternoon of every month.

Tests and Investigations

Please visit the NHS App for the results of any tests and/or investigations that have been undertaken at the request of your doctor. The practice does not routinely telephone patients with results. Test results can take between 7 – 10 days to be received back from hospital therefore please allow 7 days before ringing the practice for your results. Please ring after 11:00 am for test results when our telephone lines are less busy.

For confidentiality reasons results will only be given to the patient unless consent is obtained. To give consent for someone else to collect results on your behalf, please contact the surgery.

If your test was undertaken at the request of a hospital consultant, you will need to contact the hospital to obtain your results.
