CQC Inspection

The partners and staff at Mattishall and Lenwade Surgeries are very disappointed with the results of the recent CQC inspection. This was a focussed inspection that considered areas of safety, effectiveness, and leadership within the surgery.  The CQC, whilst acknowledging the difficulties within the NHS, and in particular, General Practice, caused by Covid-19 and the difficulties regarding staff recruitment and retention, were, nevertheless, unable to take these challenges into account nor were they able to take into consideration the difficulties we have with our aging premises which urgently require replacement.

“Our priority has been to focus on delivering good patient care and improving access to healthcare. We recognise that these priorities have been to the detriment of some other areas, mainly focussed on administration, and we will work hard to improve these areas whilst maintaining excellent standards of clinical care.

“We would like to thank our staff and patients for their ongoing commitment and support and look forward to being able to demonstrate our ongoing improvements.”
