How to Request an Appointment

You can request an appointment in the following ways:

Types of Appointments

At the practice we offer all of our patients an initial telephone consultation with a doctor, which can enable us to provide care to more patients.

Up to 70% of all medical queries can be managed on the telephone. For example, if you have a bad back, rather than you needing to get dressed, get in the car/on the bus, arrive at the surgery, sit in the waiting room and then see a GP who may prescribe some pain relief, you can speak with a GP on the phone.

The GP may prescribe you the same pain relief but can then send that prescription to a home delivery prescription service, meaning the medication could be delivered to your door the same day. Alternatively, they can send the prescription to your preferred pharmacy for collection by yourself or a friend.

If a doctor wishes to continue the consultation by seeing you, they will book a same day appointment or arrange a time which is convenient for you.

If you call us and we are fully booked, we will offer you a telephone consultation for the following day.

Our reception team may ask for some basic details on your condition as they will then be able to signpost you to the correct clinician.

Doctor or Nurse

Doctors and nurses see patients for a variety of issues. When you contact us to request an appointment, we will book you in with whomever is appropriate to deal with your specific issues.
