Clair Huckerby
Clair joined Our Health Partnership as Consultant Pharmacist and lead for PCN workforce in January 2020. Prior to this she worked in Dudley as a Pharmaceutical Adviser and Consultant Pharmacist for 17 years, leading and developing a large team of primary care clinical pharmacists who have won multiple national awards for delivering innovative care. She qualified as a Pharmacist from Bradford University in 1996 and spent the first years post qualification working in hospital and community pharmacy, prior to starting a career in primary care in general practice in Birmingham.
She have a passion for developing the role of clinical pharmacists and allied health professionals and over the last 28 years have pushed boundaries becoming one of the first pharmacist prescribers in the country in 2004 and the first primary care Consultant Pharmacist in the country in 2018. She h has a special interest in renal and cardiovascular medicine and have worked for NICE as an expert advisor authoring a number of clinical guidelines. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham School of Pharmacy and continue to work in a clinical role at a local general practice. She has recently become the CVD Primary Prevention Clinical Lead at BSol ICB
She thoroughly enjoys working with the practices and PCNs supported by OHP and has a passion for workforce development, innovation and research. Outside of work, she spends time with her family and friends, usually involving taking part or competing in crazy running or swimming related sporting challenges.
