Appointment Times and Practice Response Policy

Our practice strives to provide a same-day service and endeavors to respond to all appointment requests by the end of the next working day. We are dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives timely, appropriate, and clinically safe care.”

Clinical Triage of All Appointments
All appointment requests, including those submitted via eConsult, are reviewed and assessed by a qualified clinician. Clinicians carefully assess each case and determine whether the most appropriate next step is a telephone consultation or a face-to-face appointment. This ensures patients receive the right care at the right time.

Telephone Appointments
Where a telephone consultation is appropriate, we can usually provide an estimated call time:
• If your appointment is booked in the morning, you will normally receive a call between the morning and early afternoon.
• If your appointment is booked in the afternoon, you will receive a call before the practice closes.
• If your eConsult is submitted in the evening, you are likely to receive a call the following morning or early afternoon.

Please note that these times are estimates only. Exact call times cannot always be guaranteed due to varying clinical demands and urgent cases.

Face-to-Face Appointments
Face-to-face appointments are offered based on clinical priority and availability on the day. Because of this, we are not always able to offer specific appointment times in advance or provide appointments at exact times requested.

Patients who submit an eConsult or are awaiting clinical contact are advised to remain available to attend the practice at short notice if a face-to-face appointment is required. Availability of these appointments depends on clinical urgency and capacity on the day.

Failure to attend a face-to-face appointment when offered may result in delays to your care or treatment.

Same-Day and Next Working Day Responses
Our same-day service enables many patients to be assessed on the day they contact the practice. When same-day assessment is not clinically required or capacity is exceeded, we aim to respond to all appointment requests by the end of the next working day.

Patient Responsibility
To help us provide safe and timely care, we ask that patients:
• Keep their phone available when awaiting a call from the clinician.
• Be prepared to attend the practice if a face-to-face appointment is required.
• Notify the practice as soon as possible if they are no longer able to attend.

Your cooperation helps us ensure fair access to appointments and high-quality care for everyone.
