BMA Industrial Action
Posted on:
As of 1st October 2024, the majority of GPs in Barking, Dagenham & Havering are intending to take one, or all of the following actions:
- – Not to sign up to any new data sharing agreement and to that effect BMA has produced the guidelines GP data sharing and GP data controllership
- – Stop engaging with E-Referral Advice & Guidance Pathway
- – Stop rationing referrals, investigations and admissions and instead refer as what your patient needs are
- – Switch off Medicines Optimisation as the purpose of this is to save system money rather than clinical benefit to your patient
- – Limit daily patient contacts for clinician; divert patients to local urgent care settings once daily maximum has been reached UEMO recommended safe maximum of 25.
- – Serve notice on any voluntary services currently undertaken that plugs local commissioning gaps and stop supporting the system at the expense of your business and staff time. This includes any new shared care agreements and any workload handed off to GPs via discharge summaries inappropriately.
- Green Lane Surgery has decided to follow the BMA Industrial action advice.
