Home Visits

Home visits are reserved for those who genuinely cannot leave their homes due to severe illness or disability. Here’s why:

  • Clinical Limitations: Home visits are less effective for thorough examinations and complex assessments. The practice environment is better equipped for certain procedures and investigations.
  • Prioritising Urgent Needs: Home visits are prioritised for patients with critical conditions or those at high risk. This ensures that those with the most urgent medical needs receive timely care.
  • Limited Resources: GP practices have limited resources, including staff and vehicles. Home visits take significantly longer than in-person appointments, reducing the number of patients who can be seen overall.

If you’re unsure whether a home visit is necessary, please discuss your situation with the practice.

If you require a home visit please contact the surgery as soon as possible in the morning and give the receptionist your details.
