At Knoll Medical Practice, we are proud to be an approved training practice for General Practice Registrars (GPRs). This means we actively participate in the training and development of future doctors who will be providing primary care to our communities. Only NHS England approved training practices can train GP trainees.
This means we host trainee doctors and medical students at various stages of their training. Some may be exploring General Practice as part of their medical education before specialising in another field, while others are completing their final training to become qualified GPs.
What does this mean for our patients?
- Enhanced Care: GPRs bring fresh perspectives and the latest medical knowledge to our practice. They are closely supervised by experienced GPs, ensuring you continue to receive high-quality care.
- Increased Staffing: The presence of GPRs often means increased staffing levels within the practice, which can potentially lead to improved appointment availability.
- Improved Quality of Care: GPRs contribute to the ongoing improvement of our services through their involvement in quality improvement projects and audits.
Benefits for the Wider NHS:
- Securing the Future of Primary Care: By training the next generation of GPs, we are helping to ensure a sustainable future for primary care services within the NHS.
- Improved Patient Outcomes: Well-trained GPs are essential for providing high-quality, patient-centred care and improving overall health outcomes for the population.
As a patient your appointment may be scheduled with a Medical Student or GP Registrar, as appropriate. In order to support their development and studies, every training doctor is allocated a GP within the practice who will supervise and oversee the clinics and consultations.
We are committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for our GPRs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
