eConsult
Routine Appointments
We offer routine appointments by both telephone and in-person. The telephone appointments can be booked by calling the surgery and speaking to one of our Care Navigators. The face-to-face appointments will be requested by a GP following the submission of an eConsult or having been consulted by the Triage or Duty GP or if we have invited you via text for a review.
Our Practice Nursing team provide face-to-face appointments for the management of many long term conditions such as Asthma, COPD and Diabetes.
Appointments can be booked in person at reception, by calling the main surgery number: 023 9237 0422 between the hours of 08:00am and 18:30pm Monday to Friday.
Non-urgent advice: Please Remember
If you would like to speak to a member of staff “in confidence” please ask to go to a private room.
Urgent Appointments
We operate a Telephone Triage system each weekday morning; you will be asked by the receptionist to provide a brief description of the problem for which you need an appointment. Your name will then be added to a list for a GP or a Nurse Practitioner to call you back to assess the most appropriate person for you to see and whether it is appropriate for you to be seen on the day.
You may be given advice over the telephone, an appointment to see a Nurse Practitioner or a GP, or you may be contacted by another clinician – i.e. a physiotherapist, if your problem is of a muscular skeletal nature.
Chaperones are available upon request – Click Here.
Evenings and Weekends
We work with the Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance to offer service in the evenings and at weekends. This can be for GP appointments, bloods or smear tests.
- Monday – Friday: Between 6.30pm and 8pm
- Saturdays: Between 8am and 8pm
These appointments are not at Drayton Surgery or Wootton Street Surgery but are at Lake Road Health Centre.
Extended Opening Hours
Please see the Extended Opening Tab under our contact details.
These appointments are available to book in advance.
Please ask at reception for more details.
Non-urgent advice: Please Note
Patients attending for appointments on Saturdays are asked to record their arrival by booking themselves in using the automated screen which is opposite the main reception desk. There will be reception staff on duty at these sessions but they will not be able to provide a full administrative service. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
Please help us to offer a better service to you all by letting us know if you cannot attend or no longer need an appointment so that it can be made available for another patient.
