Non-urgent advice: Notice

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing delays with repeat prescriptions, with turnaround times currently around 7 days. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Repeat Prescriptions

You may request your Repeat Prescription in any of the following ways:

  • Via our Online Services – sign up at reception bringing some proof of ID with you.
  • In person at Reception.
  • By post.
  • Via your chosen pharmacy.

We have a repeat prescription service for which we require a minimum of 72 hours notice by 12 noon (excluding bank holidays and weekends) in order to prepare the prescription for collection.

You will be given a tear-off slip with each prescription which lists the medicines you have been prescribed previously.

Should you require a repeat prescription you should return the most up to date slip to the surgery indicating which items you require.

Please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope if you require the prescription posted back to you and allow enough time for its return.

Always check all items to ensure they are the correct dose and quantity.

The doctor may wish to review your medication from time to time, in these circumstances you will be asked to make an appointment.

Please note requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be accepted over the telephone as it may lead to mistakes.

Prescriptions may be collected after 72 hours, during surgery opening times, by a responsible person.

If you leave a stamped, addressed envelope with your request, we will post the prescription to you when completed.

Please allow some extra time when using this service.

If you would like your prescriptions to be sent directly to a nominated pharmacy, please let us know in writing so that we may record it on your medical record or sign up with your chosen pharmacy and they will action your request.
