If you are planning to travel outside of the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
Please contact us in plenty of time to arrange any necessary vaccinations
To help our nursing team determine your travel vaccination needs, you will need to use Anima to complete a Travel Assessment form.
Please contact the surgery at least 6–8 weeks before you travel to allow time for assessment, vaccine ordering, and scheduling.
We ask you to do this because travel advice and guidance changes all the time, therefore we need to assess your needs as close to the date of travel, but with adequate time to arrange and complete your consultation.
Before you contact us for travel advice, please ensure you are up to date with country-specific advice on required vaccines, outbreaks, and health precautions and please note, not all vaccines are NHS-funded.
We are able to offer Tetanus, Typhoid and Hepatitis A vaccinations free of charge. We cannot provide the Yellow Fever vaccination or non-NHS private vaccinations.
The cost of travel vaccines that are not available on the NHS will vary, depending on the vaccine and number of doses you need.
How to complete a Travel Assessment Form
- You can do this online via Anima.
- Alternatively, call us on 01329 845777 or come into the surgery to request this.
Yellow Fever
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Yellow Fever vaccinations.
You can find a local provider at nathnacyfzone.org.uk.
Prescribed medication for your trip
We can issue repeat prescriptions early or supply a larger quantity at the discretion of the doctor signing your prescription.
Please submit your medication request with as much detail as possible, including the dates you will be away and when your medication is due to run out. This will help us to ensure we prescribe you enough medication and reduces the need to request more information from you.

Health documents for travel
We recommend you seek advice from your airline and travel company to ensure you know exactly what you need to travel.
The Practice does not provide fit-to-fly letters or covid tests. If required you will need to seek a consultation from a private provider for this.
If you need proof that medication you are bringing is prescribed by the NHS there, you can either:
- Show your NHS App prescriptions screen at the airport.
- Login to your NHS account and print off your medication list.
- Take a print out of your medication provided by your pharmacy when you collect your medication.
Alternatively, you can contact us to request a printed list of your prescribed medication from us. You will need to collect the paperwork yourself and bring ID with you.
