We now have the facility for you to measure your own height, weight, Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure and Pulse.
You can make an appointment either online or by phone.
it is recommended that you come in 10 minutes before your appointment time so that you can sit down for 10 minutes before using the monitor so that your blood pressure is normalised.

If you have recently suffered a joint, muscle or bone injury or sprain you can now speak to a Physiotherapist without having to see a GP first.
For over 2000 patients with a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) presentations such as spinal pain or shoulder pain have been expertly assessed, diagnosed and treated, not by their GP but by a team of First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs). First Contact Physiotherapists are highly skilled and experienced NHS Chartered Physiotherapists. They can complete a thorough physical assessment, prescribe exercise, suggest lifestyle changes and access medical investigations such as x-ray or MRI scans, or refer to other specialities such as orthopaedics or rheumatology, if deemed necessary. This initial contact directly with a physiotherapist has helped to lessen the strain on GP practices and offered quick access and high quality care to patients
Patients have benefitted shorter waiting times, less appointments to access expert care and begin recovery. Much faster than the traditional route of booking a GP appointment and then being referred to the physiotherapy service which may result in a significant wait to be seen.
One of the FCP team members John Cooper said:
“by contacting your GP surgery and speaking to a FCP, in most cases on the same day an acute problem can be assessed and treatment can begin immediately. This reduces the chance for the problem to become chronic. However even patients with long term conditions, a clear diagnosis in conjunction with prescribed exercise and lifestyle strategies can make such a positive difference.”
Early research across the surgeries has shown a positive patient experience and high levels of satisfaction with the FCP service. Treatment outcomes have also been impressive 75% of patients assessed over the telephone or in a face to face consultation by a First Contact Physiotherapist are able to self- manage their symptoms without the need for GP involvement or referral onward to other services.
The First Contact Physiotherapy service operates from 09.30 to 17.30 Monday to Friday and can be reached by telephoning the surgery and asking for a call back by one of our FCP physiotherapists.

Often patients feel it is not always necessary or indeed convenient to make an appointment to see a doctor and would prefer a telephone call to the doctor or nurse. Our Doctors and nurses are usually available to speak to patients by phone between surgeries.
If you feel this would be useful please call our main number (01666 825 825) where one of our staff will deal with your request.
Services available from Malmesbury Primary Care Centre Include:
Each day a doctor takes on the role of “Duty Doctor”. They are available to deal with the emergencies of the day. The duty doctor also deals with urgent telephone enquires and undertakes emergency visits during surgery hours.
Not all patients need, or want to make an appointment to see a GP. Often they require advice on minor medical conditions or symptoms. Patients seeking such advice should ask to speak to the Duty team. The Duty team service is quick and often more convenient for our patients.
They can speak to the team on the phone and if necessary come in. The Duty team nurse works closely with the Duty doctor and can refer to them if appropriate. The duty team will be able to decide on the most appropriate course of action to assist you.
This may be advice over the telephone, a clinic appointment for that day, an appointment in a specialist clinic, a routine appointment or an appointment in the duty doctor’s surgery that day.
If you are troubled by something and are not sure whether to bother the doctor speak to a practice nurse who may be able to help.
The surgery has a team of highly trained and experienced practice nurses who can help and give advice on a range of chronic conditions and health promotion. Each of our nurses specialises in particular areas of health and works closely with your doctor to make sure you get the best possible help and advice for specific conditions.
To complement the Practice nurses we are also very fortunate to have a team of Health Care Assistants who are able to assist the nurses to perform a wide range of treatment room procedures.
Due to Covid Guidelines Visits will only be made if clinically essential and so avoid unnecessary risk to the patient and the clinician.
If you are unable to come to the surgery a doctor or Specialist Practitioner* will visit you at home. Remember – facilities for examination and treatment are better at the surgery and the less time the doctor has to spend travelling means more time available for all patients.
Please try to request a home visit before 10.00AM whenever possible. The decision to make a home visit will based on the Doctors assessment of the illness.
Due to Covid Guidelines Visits will only be made if clinically essential and so avoid unnecessary risk to the patient and the clinician.
Specialist Practitioner* (SP) We have a fully trained Paramedic /Specialist Practitioner in our team . One of their main roles is to undertake home visits where traditionally the doctors would have gone. The SP is able to assess and treat the majority of home visits equally if not better than a GP . They also have the benefit of technical equipment not normally carried by a GP.
