Additional Services

OOH / urgent care service

In order to access the service, phone 111 or ring 01983 618388 which is the surgery number and select option 1 which will put you through to the 111 service; they handle all calls for the out-of-hours service. Visitors to the Beacon Health centre (directions below) must first phone the out-of-hours service to access this. It is not a walk-in service.

If your needs cannot reasonably be defined as urgent or an emergency case, please wait until after 8.00am on the next working day before phoning your own doctor at the surgery.

NHS 111 – when it’s less urgent than 999

Making it easier for the public to access healthcare services when they need medical help fast, but it’s not a life-threatening situation. Callers to 111 are put through to a team of highly trained call advisers, who are supported by experienced nurses. They use a clinical system and ask questions to assess callers’ needs and determine the most appropriate course of action.

Urgent Care Service

The Beacon Health Centre is now part of the UCS (Urgent Care Service). It is for those who have been advised by a health professional – doctor, dentist, optician, or pharmacist – or the NHS 111 service – to visit the UCS.
