Booking an appointment

You can book a GP appointment by speaking to our reception staff. Our routine appointments are usually between 7-14 days in advance.

Alternatively, If you have on-line access via our website or the NHS app you are able to book a face-to-face appointment with a GP. If you prefer the appointment to be via telephone please ensure you note this in the comments box, also state your preferred number. We also prefer you to enter a very brief reason for the appointment as this helps the GP be prepared.

On-line consultations

These can be made via our website. Please allow up to 2 days for a response but in reality any queries are usually dealt with on the same day. These are not suitable for urgent matters. You do not need to be registered for on-line services to do this.

ON-THE-DAY EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS (known as ‘triage’) If you feel you need an urgent appointment we ask that you telephone the surgery and speak to reception. Reception staff will ask for a brief reason and will then sign-post you accordingly. This may involve directing you to a pharmacy, a physio, a member of our medicine management team or the duty doctor.

What to expect from our GP or clinician when booking a triage appointment

When you book a triage appointment your name is added to the triage list for the day. A GP or paramedic will call you back, discuss your symptoms and may invite you to come in for an examination if this is required.

It is important that you keep your phone with you AND ON at all times to ensure you don’t miss your booked appointment.

Calls start from the surgery from 8:00 am and may continue until 6:30 pm.

What happens if I miss my call?

We understand that calls may be missed from time to time.

If you miss your call the clinician  will attempt to you call you once more, if you miss a second call then we ask you to re-book your appointment.

If you have opted to receive text messages then the clinician may text or email you to inform you that you have missed your appointment.

The date and time of your failure to respond to a call will be recorded in your clinical record.

In summary the GP will call you twice. If you miss both calls it will be your responsibility to rebook another telephone slot.

Please do not ask reception for a specific time as the GP workload for that day cannot be predicted.

Thank you for your co-operation
