Pay & Display Car Park – Frequently Asked Questions:
Why have we introduced Pay & Display Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)?
The surface of our car park is gradually deteriorating and will be very expensive to replace. We have noticed an increase in the number of cars parked by the public who are not using surgery services, especially at the weekends and some holiday homes are advertising free parking at the surgery! We wish to ensure that parking during opening hours is prioritised to our patients and that the public visiting the area help contribute towards the cost of upkeep of the car park.
What to do if you are attending a medical appointment during surgery opening hours:
When you attend the surgery during opening hours, you can park and attend your consultation; you do not need to buy a parking ticket as the Pay & Display is not operational in usual opening hours. If the clinic is running late and you are still on the premises at 6.30pm, please make a receptionist aware so that they can add this information to the system to ensure you do not get a parking fine.
What to do if you are attending a medical appointment in the evening, between 6.30pm and 8.00pm:
The Pay & Display is operational during this time, however the reception team will register your car registration number on the system, so that you do not need to buy a ticket and you will not get a fine. Please ensure that this information is provided when you book your consultation.
What to do if you are attending a medical appointment at the weekend:
The Pay & Display is operational during this time, however the reception team will register your car registration number on the system, so that you do not need to buy a ticket and you will not get a fine. Please ensure that this information is provided when you book your consultation.
When we hold mass-vaccination clinics at weekends Pay & Display will be turned off.
What to do if you must leave your car at the surgery for medical reasons:
If you are taken ill and are unable to drive home, or admitted to hospital, please make our reception team aware. They will register your car registration number on the system, so that you do not need to buy a ticket and you will not get a fine. Your car would need to be moved as soon as you or a family member was able.
What to do if you wish to park at the surgery to visit Marazion:
Please do not use the surgery car park during our opening hours. Our car park is only for patients accessing medical services.
Outside of surgery opening hours, please pay the appropriate parking charge, using the Pay & Display facility.
If you are issued with a Penalty Charge Notice but were parked appropriately to use medical services at the surgery:
If you have been issued with a Penalty Charge Notice, but feel you were parked appropriately to use medical services, please email enquiries.marazionsurgery@nhs.net. Please quote the PCN Reference number, car registration, date and time, and why you feel the fine is in error so that we can investigate this for you. If you have been inappropriately issued with a Penalty Charge Notice fine, we will endeavour to get this cancelled.
If you are issued with a Penalty Charge Notice, when you were not attending the surgery, that you feel is an error:
Please contact Smart Parking directly who will investigate the matter for you.
