First Contact PhysiotherapistBSc (Hons) MCSP 2007
I worked across a wide range of specialties before specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2011. I worked at the Physiotherapy Dept. at West Cornwall Hospital from 2011 until 2021 when I became the First Contact Physiotherapist for Marazion Surgery. ‘First Contact’ means you can book an appointment to see me directly for any musculoskeletal issues. I can request imaging and blood tests as needed as well as refer on to other services.

Health & Wellbeing CoachEMCC Award Personal Care Institute Accredited 2024
Coaching empowers you to bring about positive changes to improve your overall lifestyle and health, by identifying what matters to you and developing action plans to achieve your goals.
Mrs Linda Whittaker
Social Prescriber
Your health and wellbeing can be improved by improving other areas of your life, things that can negatively affect your health like loneliness, debt, unpaid caring, and stress due to financial pressures or poor housing.
Social Prescribing is a simply a way to give you time to talk through those non medical challenges and empower you to find ways to improve or resolve them.
The plan might be to learn a new skill, give yourself a health goal, join a new group or activity, build confidence, make friends, just get out your front door, access benefits, or work with specialists we can refer you to e.g. help manage your debt or address housing issues.
Pharmacy Team
You may be contacted by a Practice Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician on behalf of your GP.
What do Practice Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians do at GP Practices?
Practice Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are healthcare professionals registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have long established roles in community pharmacy, secondary care and commissioning.
In general practice, Pharmacists work alongside GPs along with support from Pharmacy Technicians to focus on advanced skills by undertaking tasks such as medicines reconciliation on discharge, management of prescription queries and repeat requests.

Marazion Surgery is an accredited Training Practice
Marazion Surgery is an accredited Training Practice which means that we meet the high standards of clinical care set by the Peninsula Deanery to teach medical students and qualified doctors in their foundation and specialist years.
The Practice won the Excellence and Innovation in Clinical Teaching Team Award for 2022-2023 from the University of Exeter Medical School.
We currently provide placements for GP Registrars, who are qualified doctors training to specialise as General Practitioners. We currently provide placements for medical students in years two, four and five from the University of Exeter Medical School.
The GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors and have a great deal of medical experience. They are furthering their training to prepare for a career as a General Practitioner. They are attached to the Practice for up to 12 months. If you are seen by a GP registrar, you’re still being seen by a qualified doctor, just one that hasn’t fully completed their GP training yet. They essentially do the same job as a normal GP but will be able to ask questions to another GP should they come across a particularly tricky case they’re not sure how to manage. A GP Registrar is responsible for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, offering preventative healthcare advice, and managing long-term health conditions.

Reception
Our patient advisers are usually the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. Anything that is discussed with the patient advisors or any other member of the team is treated in strict confidence. You have a right to be treated courteously, and our patient advisors also have a right to be treated courteously by you. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.
