Asum is based in the surgery working as part of the clinical team alongside the GPs and nurses. The main purpose of their role is to help the team deliver high-quality care to patients by making full use of their clinical skills. This will be achieved by dealing with any medication or prescription queries, liaising with community pharmacies, undertaking medication reviews and ensuring that repeat prescriptions are updated after patients have been discharged from hospital. Health Visitors are Registered Nurses with a further qualification which equips them with the knowledge and skills to deal with children aged 0–5 years.
