Meet the Team

‘Born in West Bromwich in 1966, I have travelled the West Midlands extensively, having been brought up in Wolverhampton, and trained in Medicine at Birmingham. I escaped to Shropshire in 2003. I am married with 2 children. In practice, I am interested in training new GPs and palliative care. In my spare time I enjoy watching films and anything that makes me laugh, and a pint of real ale always goes down well!’

‘I enjoy all aspects of General Practice. I have extensive experience in the education of medical students and I am an honorary clinical teacher for Keele medical students.
When not at work, I enjoy keeping fit and yoga.’

‘Born in Colchester and trained in London at UCL. I moved to Stafford for my house jobs as a junior doctor. I completed basic surgical training in Telford and Shrewsbury and stayed in the area that is now home, for GP training. I maintain an interest in minor surgery and orthopaedics. I’m a film enthusiast (mainly Sci-Fi and action) and I enjoy but play bad golf and am enjoying the struggle of training my “full of beans” springer spaniel called Jasper.’

‘I initially studied neuroscience for four years at Nottingham University but then decided I wanted to train as a Doctor. I undertook my medical training at Sheffield and moved to Shropshire in 2007 for my husband to complete his training as an intensive care doctor. We have two children at local schools and three pet pigs in the garden at home!
I have a particular interest in Sexual Health and Women’s Health.’

After graduating I completed my medical training in North Staffordshire and joined Wellington Road Surgery as a Salaried GP in 2020.
In my spare time I like watching films with family and friends, particularly sci-fi and comedy. I also love to explore the local countryside and have recently started rock climbing and Geocaching with my Husband and toddler.’ UCL. I moved to Stafford for my house jobs as a junior doctor. ‘Having grown up in London, I came to the Midlands in 2005 to start medical school at the University of Birmingham. I completed my junior doctor years and GP training in Birmingham and the Black Country, and have worked in Health Town in Wolverhampton as a salaried for 6 years before I joined Wellington Road Surgery.
I have lived locally since 2015 with my husband and now our 2 young boys. In my spare time I love walking, running, baking, visiting all the wonderful places on our doorstep in Shropshire and now trying to master the art of growing our own veg.
I love challenge, variety and fulfilment of a career in General Practice and I am very excited to have joined the team at Wellington Road Surgery.’

‘Originally from Lancashire, I began my medical journey in Scotland and later returned to the Northwest of England for my Junior Doctor rotations and GP training. Over the past 12 yers, I’ve worked as a GP in West Sussex and Surrey.
I have recently relocated to Shropshire, where I live with my husband and two young children. In my spare time I enjoy long walks with the family, visiting historical locations across the country, and relaxing with a nice cup of tea and a good book.’

Helen Lippitt is responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the practice and co-ordinates the work of the other staff. She will be pleased to discuss any non-medical problems you may have.
