Mental Health

IAPT services can support people with mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety or low mood. Please use the links below to self-refer or access support.

Outside of normal working hours if you are experiencing urgent mental health issues that cannot wait until usual working hours, please phone the Access Service 08081964501.

Counselling Services

Caritas Free Church Counselling Service provide therapeutic 1-to-1 counselling in a calm and relaxed environment. Please call Hayley Lynch on 07824 329339 or email hayley.lynch@caritasshrewsbury.org.uk.

Kooth 

Kooth online counselling offer support to young people between the ages of 11-18. There is no referral process or waiting list. You can access support for any issue you may be experiencing. Counsellors are online 365 days a year. Mon-Fri from midday until 10pm & weekend 6pm until 10pm. You can message counsellors 24 hours a day & access fully-moderated support forums, online magazines and other self-help tools.

Children

Toy Lending Library

The Shrewsbury toy lending library is a registered charity run as a toddler group for parents and carers to come along with their children and whilst the children play the adults can socialise.

Toys can be loaned from 50p per week

Venue: Harlescott Community Centre, Kynaston Road (Tuesday 10am – 1pm)

           Crowmoor School, Crowmere Road (Monday 9:15am – 11:15am)

Shrewsbury Ramblers Group

Walking with your local ramblers group can be a great way to exercise and explore your local environment. Rambler walk leaders often know how to get to the most interesting places so you can enjoy all of the health benefits of walking without the worries of getting lost or planning a route.

As a registered charity the Ramblers operate both on a local and national level and aims to encourage walking, protect and maintain rights of way and increase access to open countryside and the coast.

ParkRun 

Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.

Parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.
