Healthcare advice and treatment on your local high street and NHS 111 online – the health services you need to know over Easter weekend

As the Easter bank holiday approaches, we are reminding people of the healthcare services available over Easter weekend and how to access them. Pharmacies are a good place to start for a variety of health matters from the NHS Health Checks, to smoking cessation, as well as managing medicines. Pharmacists can also help with a range of conditions such as diarrhoea, colds and coughs, cystitis, skin rashes and hay fever. Some pharmacies have the added advantage of being open when GP practices are closed and not just for bank holidays. There may be changes to normal opening hours over Easter so please check before you go.

The bank holiday pharmacy opening hours across Coventry and Warwickshire, can be found on the NHS England and NHS Improvement website at this link www.england.nhs.uk/midlands/nhs-england-and-improvement-midlands-work/bank-holiday-pharmacy-opening-times/#coventry-warwickshire

If you need more urgent medical care but it’s not an emergency, think 111 online service first. www.111.nhs.uk assess you in the same way as the telephone service and, if you should need it, book you at time slot at an accident and emergency department to make sure you can be seen safely. When you need help for a child under the age of five, you should call 111.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You can also use the NHS website or NHS App (available on iOS App Store and Google Play Store) for advice on staying well, health conditions, symptoms and treatments, including what to do and when to get help.
