Ordering Repeat Prescriptions Over Christmas

Dear Patients

The POD are closed on the weekends and Bank Holidays over the Christmas period but are open 8am to 5pm at all other times.

During December, POD will be accepting early requests from patients to ensure they have sufficient time to order and collect their medication prior to the holiday period, allowing for dispensing and delivery time, and to ensure that the workload is spread out over the month for us all.

POD will ensure that if a prescription has been requested early then the next reorder date will be entered on the screen to ensure that this does not impact on prescription waste. Therefore please reassure prescribers that this will be managed within POD and they do not need to reject prescription requests as too early during this period.

POD is already getting busy again, as expected at this time of year, so please use of the text call backs and online ordering via POD to your patients too.

For a text call back – patient to text 07903586972 with the word REPEAT and the name of the GP practice. Patients will receive a call back within 48 working hours.

For online request form POD online order form – these will be handled within 24 working hours with a call back given or e-mail confirmation sent.
