It is important to understand that although your practice may offer extended access appointments, they may not necessarily be at your regular practice – you may need to travel to a different practice for the appointment.

Many practices are signed up to offer extended access to their patients. This does not mean the appointment will be at your practice, however. You may need to travel to a “hub” for an appointment outside of your practice hours.

When you contact your practice to book an appointment, you will be given a choice based on your particular needs, and will need to make a choice that best suits you.

If you decide to book an extended access appointment, it will be booked at one of the hub locations below:

Extended access appointments are delivered from “hubs”. Not every practice is a hub location. If you accept an extended access appointment, you may have to travel to a different practice and see a different doctor.

Practices do not have to offer their patients extended access appointments, even via a hub. If your practice does not offer extended access appointments at all, we recommend you speak with your practice manager or GP to see what alternatives they may offer.
