Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us on 0121 3608668, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6pm
  • using the GP online system – Patient Access

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Emergency Access for Children

We are pleased to advise you that we provide dedicated appointments specifically for children to encourage patients not to take their children to A&E but to bring them to their GP instead where ever possible/appropriate.

The intention is to prevent you from potentially having to spend long periods of time in A&E for something that your GP could help with.

Please make an appointment in the usual way by contacting reception and asking for a children’s appointment.

  • using the GP online system – Patient Access
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

It is really important that you cancel appointments you are unable to attend. Unused appointments mean longer waits for those who really need them.

If you are registered on line you can also cancel appointments on line.

We are currently offering extra appointments every Wednesday as part of an enhanced service.

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • using the GP online system – Patient Access
  • phone us on 0121 3608668, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
  • reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Home visits

Home visits are done based on clinical need, and wherever possible we request patients to try and attend the surgery. Home visits should only be requested for those who are unable to come to the Surgery because of serious illness. They should be requested by 10:30 am if at all possible.

A Doctor or Nurse may phone you prior to the visit to identify the severity of the problem so that we can plan and priorities our home visits.
