Pregnant patients will be referred to the midwife for an appointment at the surgery in the first trimester (within the first 12 weeks) of their pregnancy. Development checks are carried out in the baby clinic with the doctor at 8 weeks. New babies will receive an invitation letter for a GP health examination and their first immunisations at 8 weeks old.
