Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners are nurses who have undertaken further training in specialist fields at advanced levels in health assessments and acute illnesses. They assess, diagnose and treat a range of conditions with medication prescribing and referring into secondary care.

Practice Management
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology.
The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses.
They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Community Midwives
The midwifery team are available for expectant mothers to discuss all aspects of care during pregnancy, both at the surgery and at home. Postnatal care is undertaken at the surgery by appointment only.
Community Nurses
District Nursing services are available for individuals with both long and short-term nursing needs. The community nursing team consists of:

- Community Staff
- Healthcare Assistants
All of these professionals work together to provide skilled nursing care to individuals in the community. In addition they work alongside other local community healthcare professionals and those within secondary care. In addition to providing skilled nursing services, they offer and promote health care advice and education and the enjoyment of independence and optimum health.
Although the community nursing team do not offer personal care they can assess and refer for the most appropriate care either in the home or residential care, respite or nursing homes. Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
