Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Event – Saturday 1st March
Join Us for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Event – Saturday 1st March
We would like to invite you to a Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Event on Saturday 1st March from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Meadowside Family Health Centre.
This event aims to raise awareness and offer support to those who may be struggling with their mental health or have a friend or relative who may be struggling.
1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year in England, and 1 in 6 report experiencing common mental health issues like anxiety or depression each week. Sadly, 1 in 5 people will have suicidal thoughts over the course of their lifetime, and 1 in 14 will self-harm, with 1 in 15 attempting suicide. (Reference Source: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/mental-health-facts-and-statistics/)
Given these statistics, we want to provide an accessible space for patients to connect with local mental health support groups, bereavement services, and suicide prevention charities.
What’s Happening?
- Casual, Drop-in Event: You are welcome to come along at any time between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
- Support Groups Available: Speak with local support groups and charities focused on mental health and suicide prevention.
- Speak to Experts: Get advice, ask questions, and find out more about the services that could benefit you or someone you care about.
This event is open to everyone, and we encourage you to attend if you or someone close to you could benefit from additional support and information.
Please Note: Alongside this event the staff at GPS are raising funds for our nominated charity of the year – PAPYRUS by completing an 11 mile route around each of our sites. Participants will be either running, walking, or cycling, and we would welcome your support in sponsorship or attendance at our outreach day. If you would like to sponsor us, scan the QR code below to donate.
