At the Oaklands, we provide a range of sexual health services. Including cervical smears, contraception advice and HRT advice.
For the emergency contraceptive pill, we recommend you contact your local pharmacist. They may offer you a phone or video consultation. You’ll then be given an electronic prescription so you can collect your contraception. You can also buy emergency contraception directly from a pharmacy without a prescription.
If you think you might have an STD – Cheshire East commission Axess to provide this service and a wide range of other sexual health services at Eagle Bridge in Crewe.
You do not need a referral to access these services please contact Axess directly to book an appointment.

HIV testing
PEP a treatment that can stop an HIV infection after the virus has entered a person’s body. It must be taken within 72 hours of exposure.

Cheshire East Substance Misuse Service: Change Grow Live (CGL)
Change Grow Live is a health and social care charity that works with individuals who want to change their lives for the better and achieve positive and life-affirming goals.
If you are worried about your own alcohol or drug use or the drug use of a friend or family member, you can seek confidential information, advice and counselling from the Cheshire East Substance Misuse Service.
Opening Hours
Monday – Fri: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Tuesday Crewe site extended opening until 7.00pm
Wednesday Macclesfield site extended opening until 7.00pm
The service is delivered collaboratively with a range of providers including Change Grow Live (CGL), Emerging Futures and Recovery Works to provide a wider offer for service users and their families.
The recovery teams are based across the Cheshire East and include doctors, recovery coordinators, nurses, recovery champions, peer mentors and volunteers.
The service is available for the residents of Cheshire East and is an all-age service, available for both young people and adults.
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
Any age, gender, sexuality, race, religion
Any substance (drugs and alcohol)
Must reside in the Cheshire East locality
Need to be registered with a GP (prescriptions can’t be provided if not registered with a GP)

If you would like to refer yourself or someone else to the service you can call or email the service.
You can also complete the Change Grow Live referral form (MS Word, 64KB) in advance and either email to cheshireeast.referrals@cgl.cjsm.net or bring it with you when you visit the service.
Over 18 and have a serious medical condition such as diabetes, asthma, stroke or are pregnant
This year 50-64 year olds will be also be entitled to a flu jab which should be available in November.
We will be texting patients to book an appointment over the next few weeks once the stock has arrived for your group.
Our next Clinic is for over 65s and under 65s and is by invitation only.
Patients will then need to call and book in for an appointment.

If you have any symptoms a continuous cough, High temperature or fever, change or loss of taste or smell, or if anyone else in the household has any of the symptoms please do NOT attend the appointment.
Please come to the new main entrance located next to the pharmacy at the side of the building (Cold Hub)
Please adhere to 2-metre social distancing.
Please wear a mask and you will be asked to sanitize your hands on arrival.
Please wear a short sleeve shirt or blouse.
Do not arrive early or late to the appointment arrive on time
You may have to wait outdoors due to social distancing if it’s raining bring an umbrella
