Dr Preston was born in Crewe and qualified at Manchester Medical School in 1989.
She trained as a GP in South Manchester and became a partner in Stockport in 1993. She joined High Street as a Partner in 2017.
Her special interests are general medicine and Child and Family Mental Health.

About Dr Delatorre
Dr de la Torre was born in Madrid (Spain) where she completed medical school and specialised in Family medicine to become a GP. She moved to the UK in 2013 and, after completing her training that allowed her to work as a GP for the NHS, she worked in salaried and locum posts in Cheshire. She join our practice in 2022, being her working days Monday and Thursday. She has a special interest in Cardiovascular Risk Prevention and obtained a Post graduate Diploma in Preventative Cardiovascular Medicine on 2022 from the University of South Wales.

Dr Mitchell studied medicine at Newcastle and completed his training in Manchester before working at High Street Medical Practice. He has worked in General medicine, paediatrics, A&E, psychiatry and surgery. Prior to becoming a qualified Dr, he was a qualified pharmacist. Dr Mitchell enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Peter Ball (male)
About Peter
Please meet Peter our GP Assistant, Peter Lives Local to Winsford and started his NHS career with NHS Blood and Transplant in 2005. He has also worked in the North West Ambulance service since 2008 and Qualified in Stem Cell procurement in 2016, Peter continues to do this as a role away from the practice.
Peter was the Head of Blood services for Blood Services North West and he is also emergency first aid trained for both adults and paediatrics. Peter is also qualified in neonatal and paediatric blood draws.
Peter joined High Street full time in 2023 following a locum role the previous year.

The Practice has a full compliment of Community/District Nurses, Health Visitors, Community Midwives, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Dieticians, Social Prescribers and Community Mental Health Nurses who work closely with the GP’s and Nurses at High Street Medical Practice. I have worked in the NHS Since 2001 I started off as a bookkeeper and progressed into Practice Manager. I love my role and I feel very fortunate to manage the team at High Street, I manage the day to day running of the practice. In my spare time like to go walking to try and keep fit and I love to spend time with my family and friends.

I have been in general practice for 17 years but worked at High Street since 2021. My role at the practice as medical secretary involves dealing with all referrals on behalf of all the clinicians at the practice and supporting the GP’s & ANP’s with their roles.

I have been at High Street since September 2017; I work closely with the Doctors and practice manager behind the scenes providing support with any IT issues and clinical software for all staff. Another part of my role is being an administration assistant dealing with patient medical records, Insurance, and solicitor report requests on behalf of the surgery. I also deal with the monthly recalls of our patients suffering with chronic diseases aswell as working on QOF for the practice.
Please meet our lovely reception team which consists of Denise who oversees the day to day running of reception , Leia , Megan , Jason , Sally and Angela.
The reception team are the first point of contact for our patients, and they work really hard to ensure that all calls are answered in a timely manner , they will assist you with your admin queries and work alongside the doctors on a day to day basis to ensure of the patients needs.

Social prescribing, also sometimes known as community referral, is a means of enabling health professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services.
Social prescribing is designed to support people with a wide range of social, emotional or practical needs, and many schemes are focused on improving mental health and physical wellbeing. Those who could benefit from social prescribing schemes include people with mild or long-term mental health problems, people with complex needs, people who are socially isolated and those with multiple long-term conditions who frequently attend either primary or secondary health care.
