If you have recently found out you are pregnant you will need to make a first booking appointment to see the Midwifery Team (which should ideally take place between 6-12 weeks of pregnancy). You can self refer by clicking the following link Maternity Outpatients Self Referral Form. It is important that you refer for maternity care as soon as possible after finding out you are pregnant to ensure that the team can give you an appointment at the right time. Your request will be processed and you will be contacted within 4 weeks.
If you think you are 10 weeks pregnant or more, please do not complete this form and contact Maternity Outpatient’s Department at Leighton Hospital directly by telephone on 01270 273127, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm (excluding bank holidays).
Your first booking appointment will take approximately an hour and a half to gather as much information about you, to plan your care appropriately.
Please watch the video below prior to your booking appointment: https://youtu.be/2oHW5hIWTYM
The more you know about your pregnancy and your options, the more you are likely to feel in control. The information given here is based on The Pregnancy Book, which your midwife should give you at your first appointment.
