Dr Cruz Augustine

Dr Augustine graduated in the year 2000 from Madras, India and did his hospital training at Blackpool Victoria Hospital since 2002 in specialities including medicine, paediatrics and emergency medicine.
He joined the practice in 2007 and has a diverse medical interest with special interests in cardiac disease, diabetes, epilepsy, child health, family planning and minor surgery. He is a trainer and mentor for trainee doctors.

Dr Prasanna Anthony

Originating from Sri Lanka, Dr Anthony has been associated with the practice since August 2011. He completed his GP training at Arnold Medical Centre in Blackpool and Fernbank Surgery in Freckleton.

Dr Joydip Majumder

Dr Majumder joined the practice in May 2015 and has interests in dermatology, ENT, and medical education. He does a wide range of joint injections too and is passionate about research in General Practice. Joydip is an accredited GP Trainer, Appraiser, LMC Mentor and has various undergraduate supervisory roles at Manchester University. Outside of the surgery Dr Majumder is a keen runner and swimmer, takes part in triathlons, and also enjoys sketching.

Jacqui started working with the surgeries in November 2020, running clinics dealing with everything from children to adults. With a long career starting in the 1980s when she became a qualified nurse, she has specialised into becoming a nurse practitioner, as well as worked in orthopaedics as a ward manager. She enjoys helping children, and additionally has further education and learning into Alzheimer’s.
She enjoys driving and travelling, and is a great fan of Disney.

Anne has worked across both practices since 2009 and runs chronic disease clinics as well as most general nursing clinics. She specialises in sexual health, family planning and travel health.

Sarah has worked for the surgery since December 2020, originally gaining their experience in acute nursing care in the various wards in a hospital setting. Sarah moved from hospital care to general practice, as she wanted to work more intimately within the community, to help people manage their long term conditions. Specialising in diabetes, heart disease and wound care, she continues to develop and learn more to ensure her ability to help people.

Lorraine also originally joined the practice as a receptionist in May 2015 and is thoroughly enjoying providing a more caring role to our patients. She has passed both level 2 & 3 qualifications in health & social care, and qualified in phlebotomy in Dec 2017. Lorraine is currently furthering her career in healthcare by studying to become a nursing associate.

Non-urgent advice: Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy technicians play an important role, complementing clinical pharmacists, community pharmacists and other members of the PCN team. Pharmacy technicians are different to clinical pharmacists as they are not able to prescribe or make clinical decisions, instead working under supervision to ensure effective and efficient use of medicines.
