Research Practice

We are an active research practice dedicated to clinical studies

Our research team is led by Dr. Gill and is supported by our Management and Nursing Teams.

We are participating in several high quality studies in partnership with the Clinical Research Network.

Studies vary from short term projects to longer term research following patients with various conditions but all aim to help with the development of treatment and improve patient care.

A list of our current research includes:

  • Bipolar Parenting – Assessing whether providing patients who experience bipolar disorder with on-line support leads to their children having fewer behavioural problems. We are currently recruiting patients for this study.
  • Relief – Assessing the effectiveness of certain inhaler treatments in patients with a clinical diagnosis of mild asthma and looking to reduce the number of asthma exacerbations. We are currently recruiting patients for this study.
  • Binge Eating Disorder and Bulimia Nervosa – Patients aged 16 and above with symptoms of Binge Eating and/or Bulimia. We are currently recruiting patients for this study. For more information, click here.
  • DURATION – Impact of duration of antibiotic treatment on symptoms, recovery and antibiotic resistance in adult women with urinary tract infections (UTI) For more information, click here. We are currently recruiting patients for this study.
  • BADGER – When a GP needs specialist input with the care of a patient, they may use Advice and Guidance. Advice & Guidance is an electronic way for a GP to ask the specialist a clinical question and the for the specialist to reply to the GP with an answer within a few days. The BADGER study is looking at the use of Advice & Guidance by GPs and specialists and finding out about patients’ experiences and view of how Advice & Guidance is and can be further used by GPs and specialists. For more information, click here. We are currently recruiting for this study.
