Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
The practice would very much welcome the co-operation of all our patients in making the best use of the appointments and as such we would ask that you inform us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel an appointment.
Each month valuable time is lost because some patients do not contact us to cancel appointments which we could offer to other patients. We monitor all missed appointments and are able to calculate how much time is lost each month.
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone us on 01772 364999, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you have any other access or communication needs
If you require an interpreter, please let the receptionist know when booking your appointment and confirm the language interpretation you require.
Home visits
These should only be requested by patients who are too ill to travel to the surgery.
We would be grateful if you could phone before 10.00am to enable the Doctors to plan their rounds. All requests are triaged so that the Doctors can attend to cases according to their urgency.
It may also be possible for the Doctor to deal with your issue over the telephone rather than carry out a face to face home visit so please give the Reception team as much information as possible.
Later calls which are not urgent may be held over until the following day.
