Nursing Staff

Miss Rachel Roberts

Rachel is an experienced nurse who has come to us from the hospital.  We are very happy to welcome her to the practice.  She is currently undergoing training to become a Practice Nurse.  

Ms Tabia Razaq (f)

Taiba is an experienced Practice Nurse and alongside Rachel and Nicola, she administers both routine and travel vaccines, advises patients on long term conditions and assists the doctors in a nursing capacity. 

Treatment Room Nurses

There is Treatment Room based at the Health Centre downstairs. Patients can be referred here for things such as dressings, wound care and ear syringing. Attendance is by appointment only.


Health Practitioners

Mr Naeem Wadiwala (m)

Naeem works alongside the Doctors as a Physician Associate.  He consults with patients under the full supervision of the Doctors to treat certain conditions, please ask the reception team for more information on what he can see.

Mr Peter Harris (m)

Peter also works in the practice as part of the network team as he also works in other local practices.  Peter is an orthopaedic practitioner and can help with joint problems.  He works with us in the practice on Wednesday and Friday, appointments can be booked through the reception team.

Mr Paul Sanderson

Paul is an orthopaedic practitioner and can help with joint problems.  He works with us in the practice on Monday and Tuesday, appointments can be booked through the reception team.

Health Improvement Practitioner

The practice offers the support of a Health Improvement Practitioner to patients who may require extra input and advice to improve their lifestyle and overall health, Please ask your GP for more information if you feel you may benefit.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support the Doctors and Practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, ECG’s and pulse checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Manager

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception Supervisor


Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general inquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with referral letters and appointments, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Secretaries

Mrs Michelle Aspinall

Michelle is our Practice Secretary and deals with all referrals from the Doctors to other services, ensuring they are sent to in a timely fashion to the correct department.

Healthcare Team

Pharmacists

Community Pharmacists work alongside the doctors and provide assistance with repeat prescriptions, medical audit work and medicines reconciliation (i.e. when patients are discharged from hospital). They work over the network practices.

Community Midwives

Based at Royal Bolton Hospital, the midwives hold a weekly ante-natal clinic in the practice.


Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social well being. Every area has a different Health Visitor. Please contact 336745 at Tonge Children’s Centre and they will put you in touch with your Health Visitor.


Counsellors

Andrew Gill (m)

Andrew is a very experienced counsellor and has worked in the practice for many years.  Patients can be booked into Andrews clinics by referral from the GP.
