Ordering Prescriptions

If you have medication you need to take each month, you will need to submit a request to the practice about 1 week before you finish your current supply. There are many ways to do this.

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App on your phone) or clicking the green button below to get started.

These accounts show you all your repeated medicine and dosages, and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also bring the paper form to the surgery by dropping it through the letter box.

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • at your GP practice
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Warning advice: Patient Notice

Please allow at least two full working days for your prescription to be processed, three if your prescription is taken to the local chemist.

Not all medications are put on to repeat. Certain medications are deliberately not put on repeat prescriptions as they can be dangerous. It is a decision between an individual and the doctor about whether a medication goes on to be repeated.
