You can book appointments on the NHS App,
through Patient Access,
or over the telephone on 0161 277 6939. 

On the day appointments are available from 8am. 
Please note that the telephones are very busy between 8am and 9am each morning.

Urgent appointments

Each day we offer urgent appointments for conditions that will not wait until the next routine appointment.

These appointments will not necessarily be with the doctor of your choice or a doctor of the gender of your choice.

Please be aware reception staff will be required to obtain a reason for any appointment to ensure the most appropriate service is accessed.

Please call the practice on 0161 277 6939 or attend in person to discuss an urgent appointment.

There are additional appointments available with Cheetham Hill Medical Centre and North Manchester General Hospital as part of an extended access service. For further details on the available services/locations and how to book please speak to Reception staff.

Cancelling or changing the appointment

Please inform the practice as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment.
You can cancel on the NHS app, Patient Access or by calling 0161 277 6939.

We have a high number of appointments that are missed and go uncancelled.
Uncancelled appointments cost a lot of time, money and the ability to see see other patients.
We have a policy of three DNA’s and then a patient could be removed from the practices patient list and will not be allowed to register again.

  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Online Appointments

There are also access to book appointments for the GP online, and the appointments become available at the same time as the available appointments on the phone. You can access these by registering for online access on either :

Although you can register online, you will only be able to have full access when we are able to verify your information. Please contact the surgery on 0161 277 69395 for any clarification needed.

Requesting an appointment online

Help with medical or admin issues can be requested via AccuRx.
You can login using your NHS app login details although no registration is required to put through requests.
You will receive a confirmation message moments after a successful submission.
You should expect a response from us within 2 working days.

If you need help when we are closed

Call 999 in the event of a medical emergency.
This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

For non urgent medical help and guidance you can contact NHS 111 online or call 111 from a phone.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Enhanced Access Service is available for Evening and Weekend appointments. These are available at Cheetham Hill Medical Centre and North Manchester General Hospital. For further details on the available services/locations and how to book please speak to Reception staff. 

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home Visits

If you require the medical attention of a doctor but are unable to attend the surgery, please contact the surgery before 10:30. This will enable staff to manage the daily workload and ensure doctors availability.

Practice reception staff will log your request in the appointment diary and the doctors will telephone you during the course of the morning to discuss this request.

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Mental Health support for children and young people

MThrive – Click here to refer yourself

Help for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with anxiety related symptoms. CAMHS waiting times can be quite lengthy, so this service provides a huge help for those who simply cannot wait. They also engage with schools and parents, offering 121 counselling and help. Based in Harpurhey, they also offer an outreach service and can visit children and young people in schools also if needed.

For people with any injuries or conditions affecting the joints, muscles and tendons.
