ANP
Donna
Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are experienced nurses who are highly educated to master’s level. ANPs come from a wide range of nursing backgrounds. The ANP will independently assess, diagnose, manage and care for patients with minor illness, chronic disease and complex clinical health issues. As part of their assessment they will request other tests eg bloods/ Xray/ ultra sound scans and make referrals to other primary and secondary health care providers where appropriate. They are independent prescribers. The ANP provides a comprehensive package of care for patients. They will liaise with GPs and members of the multi-disciplinary team where necessary to facilitate seamless care and best practice for patients.
