Dr Monica Chanda (f)
MBChB DCH DCRCOG DFFP MRCGP
Dr Chanda has been a GP Partner at Archwood since 2012. She studied Medicine at Manchester Medical School and qualified in 1992. Dr Chanda has a keen interest in dermatology and women’s health and is a member of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH). In addition to the usual GP services, she offers contraceptive services, minor surgical procedures such as removal of minor skin lesions and also joint injections.

Dr Graham Parker (m)
BMedSci BM BS MRCGP
Dr Parker has been a GP Partner at Archwood since 1995, practising solo at first. He studied medicine at Nottingham University and qualified in 1989. Dr Parker has a special interest in orthopaedic medicine and is the Medical Lead for the Advanced Physio Practitioner Service in Stockport. Additionally he offers minor surgery and joint injections at the practice. He also supervises Medical Students. Dr Parker is a keen cyclist and in 2021 completed the 150 miles in a day ‘coast to coast’ route from Seascale to Whitby raising £640 to support youth work at ‘Starting Point Community Learning Partnership’ in Woodley.

Dr Raje Thiagarajan (f)
MBBS DCH MRCP
Dr Thiagarajan (or Dr Raje as she is known) joined Archwood as a GP Partner in 2019. She qualified in 1999 at Madras Medical College India and is co-credited with several different publications. Dr Raje is a qualified GP Trainer and supervises GP registrars to complete their training as General Practitioners.

Dr Laura Clark (f)
MBChB BSc MRCGP (2010) DRCOG FHEA IBLMDip
Dr Clark joined Archwood in 2022. Dr Clark specialises in Women’s health having undertaken further qualifications in gynaecology and contraception. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and is completing her training to become a registered menopause specialist. Dr Clark has a passion for education and previously held a Clinical Lecturer position at Manchester University.

Dr Alexandra Evans (f)
MBChB MRCGP
Dr Evans joined Archwood in February 2023 and became a Partner in 2024. She graduating from the University of Leicester in 2003. Alongside her general practice training, Dr Evans gained a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning and Sexual Health. Dr Evans is an experienced GP trainer and is involved in the teaching of junior medical students both directly at Archwood and also through her role as Training Progamme Director.
Dr Ella Cooper (f)
Dr Cooper is a GP Trainee who will be working with the practice until August 2025.
‘She graduated from Newcastle Medical School in 2019. She has a special interest in Undergraduate Medical Education and worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Cumbria for 2 years before moving to Stockport in 2023 where she now lives with her partner and their beloved cats.

Dr Jennings is a GP Trainee who will be working with the practice until August 2025.

Sarah Harris
Advanced Practicioner
Sarah joined Archwood in June 2022. She is trained to be able to examine, assess, make diagnoses, treat, prescribe and make referrals for patients who present with undiagnosed/undifferentiated problems.
Practice Pharmacist
Our Practice Pharmacist resolves day-to-day medicine issues and conducts medication reviews with patients directly. This includes providing help to manage long-term conditions, advising those taking multiple medicines (polypharmacy) and delivering clinical advice about treatments.
First Contact Practitioner (FCP)
Mike Corbett, James Holland, Faizan Chaudhary
First Contact Practitioners provides specialist assessment of musculoskeletal problems and early access to physiotherapy assessment and management. Mike provides expert assessment, diagnosis and management of soft tissue, muscle and joint conditions including self-management and exercise advice. Mike can also offer joint injections in line with evidenced based practice and refer on for further investigations if needed.
Patients can book an appointment without having to see a GP first. Mike can assist with:
- All soft tissue injuries – sprain, strains and sports injuries
- Arthritis
- Problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons or bone e.g. tennis elbow, ankle sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome
- Spinal pain including lower back, arm/leg, thoracic and neck pain and neurological symptoms e.g. pins & needles
- Mobility changes
- Post orthopaedic surgery
Wellbeing and Self-care Service
Rod Jones
Rod offers 1:1 support to help patients (age 18 and over) manage the things that affect health and wellbeing such as:
- Low mood, anxiety and depression
- Alcohol and substance misuse
- Long term conditions or physical health
- Loneliness and social isolation
- Caring issues
- Money issues, relationships and housing
Patients can book an appointment without having to see a GP first.
Community Midwives
Community midwives help to look after mothers and their babies before birth and in the immediate postnatal period. They work closely with our doctors and hospital doctors. A midwife antenatal clinics run on Fridays for help and advice during pregnancy.
Health Visitors
A Health Visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Nursing Team

Our Practice Nurses have a wealth of experience in managing Chronic Diseases such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension and Cardiovascular Disease. They provide a wide range of services including routine health checks and annual treatment reviews. They are also experienced in other practice nursing specialities such as smear tests, contraception advice, immunisation for babies and adults, travel vaccinations and other routine injections and procedures.

Practice Management
Janine Needham
Practice Manager
Janine has been with Archwood Medical Practice since May 2016, starting as the Reception Manager and subsequently advancing to the roles of Operations Manager and Assistant Practice Manager. Most recently, she has successfully taken on the role of Practice Manager. She brings with her a significant breadth of managerial experience. In her current position, she is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the practice, ensuring that services align with patient requirements.
Sally Lomax
Assistant Practice Manager
Sally joined Archwood Medical Practice in March 23. She brings over 20 years of experience in the NHS, having previously worked in reception, progressed to a Healthcare Assistant, and then advanced to the role of Practice Manager. In her current position, Sally supports the Practice Manager in all facets of operational management to ensure the practice runs efficiently.
Administration
Our medical secretaries and administrators manage the flow of correspondence through the practice including patient notes, referrals, hospital letters, requests for medical reports, blood and screening results. The team are Tessa, Vickie and Nicki.
Reception
The Reception Team serves as a vital connection between patients and the practice. This team addresses general inquiries from patients and performs a variety of essential tasks, including directing patients to the appropriate staff member based on their health issues or queries, scheduling appointments, issuing repeat prescriptions, and managing prescription inquiries. You may be assisted by Debbie, Sue, Annella, Lindsey, Jenny, Joeanne, Steph, or Kayleigh.
