Occupational therapy develops, recovers, or maintains patient’s day-to-day activities or occupations. Occupational therapists assess patients who are experiencing a change or decline in their day-to-day activities due to a mental or physical health conditions. Occupational therapists then work with a patient to set activity goals, meaningful to them, to improve their mental or physical health, independence, confidence, and quality of life.
Our 3 occupational therapists offers face to face and telephone appointments. This is a short-term brief intervention (2-6 sessions) where we will see patients for an hour and carry out in-depth assessments. We collaboratively set activity or functional goals to improve a patient’s wellbeing, mental or physical health. To help a patient achieve these goals we may carry out an intervention, refer to another agency, signpost, or work in many collaborative ways with all other services across PCN.
