Advice for Parents
When your child is ill or injured it is very difficult to decide if or when to call your child’s GP, NHS 111 or go the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E). During the current situation and while the government is asking everyone to stay at home, it can be confusing to know what to do. COVID-19 Advice for Parents.

COVID-19 Boosters
Please read the following information carefully before contacting the surgery regarding the COVID Booster Programme.
We know many of you are anxious to have your Covid booster vaccine or to get it for a loved one in light of news on the Omicron variant.
Please wait to be sent an appointment either by letter or text message by the Swansea Bay Health Board when it is your turn or the turn of your loved one. This also applies to other age groups eligible for their second dose.
There is no need to contact the health board or your GP to make or chase up an appointment. Eligibility for the booster to everyone 18 and over and the reduced interval between the second and the booster dose means that the schedule of jabs may be different to what you were expecting.
Please note that to relieve the overburdened mass vaccination centres, administration staff from the contact centres have been reallocated. This may mean that you have to wait longer when contacting 01792 200492 or 01639 862323, or may mean access is temporarily suspended.
The health board are unable to offer online booking or drop-in sessions at this time.
You can however join the Covid vaccine reserve list. Although there is no guarantee you will be seen quicker. People on the list are contacted if the centres have availability. Vaccine Reserve List.
If you already have a Covid vaccination appointment, please make every effort to attend on the date and at the time given. That way we know how many people to expect.
Our vaccination team continues to work extremely hard to roll out the booster programme as well as first and second doses to everyone who is eligible as quickly and safely as possible.
If you cannot make your appointment, please contact our booking team on 01792 200492 or 01639 862323 or email sbu.covidbookingteam@wales.nhs.uk
Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Unpaid carers. Am I eligible?
To get the vaccination as an unpaid carer in Wales you must meet the national guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and all three factors under Welsh Government guidance.
We strongly recommend that you check whether you are eligible before filling in the online form. Also see Unpaid carers, Am I eligible?
Overview
There are only two ways for unpaid carers to get the vaccination:
- Automatically because you are already on your GP practice’s carers’ register. If you are NOT already on the GP carers’ register DO NOT contact your GP practice or the health board now. Go to point two.
- By filling in an online form below and being accepted. You should complete this form if you (the carer) is registered with a GP practice within the Swansea Bay University Health Board area (irrespective of where the person you care for lives). If you are not registered with a GP practice, please contact your local health board.
